Desperation is a powerful emotion that can drive people to take drastic actions. When a person is in a state of desperation, they may feel as though they have no other choice but to act in extreme ways in order to achieve their goals or to alleviate their suffering.

This desperation can cause a person to do things that they would never have considered before, and can lead to both positive and negative outcomes. In this article, we will explore some of the things that desperation can cause a person to do.

We have all heard the horrible story of a desperate  mother who demonstrates super human strength at the sight of her child trapped beneath a car.  In a moment of ultimate desperation she responds with the ability of superwomen and lifts the car off to free her child.

In a recent studies, a Psychologist have had ample opportunities to study this effect know as Yerkes–Dodson law. In essence the body responds to certain types of stress by producing a neuro chemical response that triggers abilities that are far beyond normal.

Desperation is a actuate that can bring focus and cause action that would never be taken in normal times.   The level of desperation does not need to be as extreme as seeing a child trapped under a car.   Lower levels of stress, such as not having enough money to pay the rent or meet payroll can become a trigger that motivates extraordinary action.

Always try to Figure out how to increase productivities in the time of fear and other forms of stress is a hot area of study right now. Understanding secret of fear's super powers can help you gain the upper hand when the chips are down.

Firstly, One of the first thing to turn desperation into a motivating influence is to reframe the meaning of what’s happening around you.   The brains has been condition  to focus on the negative and create disempowering meanings such as “why is this happening to me” or “I don’t deserve this.”   Emotions of shame and embarrassment can also be activated if the meaning is created around perceived mistakes, blaming others or self judgement.

I think a good place to start is by identifying what's causing you to feel desperate. Once you understand the root of your feelings, you can work on reframing them in a more positive light. For example, if you're feeling desperate because you're struggling to find a job, you might try reframing your situation by focusing on the skills and experience you've gained through your job search. Have you identified what's causing your feelings of desperation?

Sure, there are a few different ways you can reframe desperation. One is to focus on gratitude. Instead of dwelling on what you don't have, try to focus on what you do have and be grateful for it. Another is to focus on the process rather than the outcome. For example, instead of feeling desperate about finding a job, focus on the steps you're taking to get there, like networking and updating your resume. Finally, you can also try reframing desperation as excitement. When you're excited about something, it can be easier to stay positive and motivated. Does any of that resonate with you?

1. Shift your focus from what you lack to what you have.

2. Embrace the present moment and stay in the now.

3. Give yourself credit for your progress, even if it's small.

4. Remember that failure is part of success.

5. Set small, achievable goals.

These are just a few ideas, but hopefully they give you some inspiration for how to reframe your desperation and get out of that negative headspace. Do you want to try any of these out?

"The Power of Reframing Desperation"

Desperation is a difficult emotion to experience, but it doesn't have to be all negative. In fact, it can be a powerful motivator for positive change.

Let's explore how we can reframe desperation to help us make meaningful progress in our lives.

First, it's important to acknowledge that desperation is a normal and common emotion. We all experience it at some point, so there's no need to feel ashamed or embarrassed by it. Next, let's look at ways we can shift our perspective on desperation.

To Reframe the situation,  you have to take action immediately, look at ways to use the desperation to get motivated to take action. Desperate situations call for desperate measures and the best way to get out of a challenging situation is to take action.    Any action will be better than no action, (as long as it is legal, ethical and does not hurt others) so get busy and find the solutions.

Another method for creating a positive mindset is to brainstorm a list of things that can be done to solve the problem.   For example if not enough money or not enough clients is the problem, write down 25 things that can be done to earn money or get clients. Developing a list will force the brain out of desperation, self pity or embarrassment and into action.

From the list of ideas select the ones that are most likely to produce results. These actions may include door knocking, phone calling, e-mailing or asking others for help.

As we all knows that some of the most successful people and companies are created in economic down turns.    Desperation is a powerful tools that turns ideas that might be nice to try, into things that MUST BE DONE.    The difference between should do and must do is the key to stepping into extraordinary action and out of desperation.

Instead of seeing desperation as a negative emotion, we can try to reframe it as a sign of determination and resilience. When we feel desperate, it often means we're facing a difficult situation that we really care about.

We're determined to overcome the obstacle, and that shows strength and resilience. So rather than feeling defeated by our desperation, we can see it as a sign that we're committed to making things better.

With this new perspective, we can begin to take small steps towards our goals. Even if we're not making huge progress right away, these small steps will add up over time.
